For an enjoyable visit, allow time for a leisurely stroll in this unique natural showcase that offers so many pleasant sights and sounds.  Mornings and early evenings are best for observing and photographing wildlife.  Bring your camera, binoculars, and insect repellent.  Since hunting and the possession of weapons are prohibited here, wildlife may be seen more frequently.  Go quietly, listen carefully!

The trails are the work of many volunteers who give their time so that everyone may enjoy easy access to these unusual geological formations.  Help preserve this area by staying on trails and boardwalks, foot travel only.  The observation platform at Big Dismal Sink offers a breathtaking view of more than 75 different plants cascading down the sink’s steep walls.

For the preservation of sinkhole walls and your personal safety, swimming is not allowed.  Help maintain the beauty of Leon Sinks by packing our litter and staying outside the sinkholes. Only 43.5 miles north-east of Carrabelle, about 55 minutes.
