Florida Black Bears

A Conservation Success Story.  So Where Do We Go From Here?

7 pm- 8 pm   Free & Open to The Public. Refreshments Available Before Lecture.

Lecture by Don Hardeman, Jr., Black Bear Research Biologist, FWC Fish & Wildlife Research Institute
Florida’s black bear population has recovered from the low numbers in the 90s and is now estimated to be 4,030. Their endangered species status has been removed, making them a true wildlife conservation success story. Join us to learn about current research investigating black bear behavior in the human-dominated landscape and the demography of the Apalachicola subpopulation of bears.

A part of the Conservation Lecture Series, Enhancing Global Coastal Literacy in Florida.
