RiverTrek 2019

RiverTrek  is an annual fundraiser and awareness campaign supporting

the continued work of Apalachicola Riverkeeper.

Together, we can protect Apalachicola River & Bay

In October, a group of volunteer kayak paddlers will travel the 107-mile length of the Apalachicola River in 5 days, averaging 20+ miles per day with additional side-trips.  Each night paddlers camp along the river’s bank.  Prior to launch, the volunteer paddlers seek donations from friends, family members, businesses and community members.  RiverTrek volunteer paddlers are asked to set a minimum individual fundraiser goal of $1,000.

You can support individual(s) or the whole team by going to our website and clicking on the link for the event to see team member bios.  Checks can also be mailed to P.O. Box 8, Apalachicola, FL 32329.  All proceeds support the work of Apalachicola Riverkeeper.

WFSU-TV produced a documentary series on Apalachicola Riverkeeper’s (2012 and 2013) RiverTrek. These videos highlight the issues the Riverkeeper is working on to address and resolve. To learn more about RiverTrek and the Apalachicola River, see RiverTrek 2012 and RiverTrek2013 on YouTube.
