25th Annual Camp Gordon Johnston Reunion Days

On March 13-15, 2020, the Camp Gordon Johnston Association will be holding the Annual Camp Gordon Johnston Reunion Days in Carrabelle, FL for the 25th year! Camp Gordon Johnston WWII Museum has begun planning for this special 25th edition event and needs your help to honor our veterans and make this year’s parade and activities more special than ever! Veterans, their family and friends as well as the general public are invited to join in the efforts in organizing the celebrations.

On Friday, March 13, at 6 pm, the Camp Gordon Johnston American Legion Post 82 located in Lanark Village will warmly invite all WWII veterans, WWII widows/widowers, non-WWII veterans (with proof of service), active duty military, and members of Post 82 to a Low Country Boil in their honor. Each veteran or member is welcome to bring one guest. (This event is not open to the general public.)

On the morning of Saturday, March 14, the Camp Gordon Johnston Reunion Days Parade will celebrate all veterans of all branches of service.  The goal is to make this year’s parade bigger than ever and include even more people and groups than in the past. The museum is seeking those willing to plan patriotic floats, decorate golf carts, bring antique cars, and wear fun patriotic outfits! Military related groups, community organizations, school groups, and individuals are encouraged to join the parade.  The parade is also expected to include military vehicles, JROTC units, color guards, and veteran organizations.

Saturday evening the Camp Gordon Johnston Reunion festivities continue with another special event - the Camp Gordon Johnston Reunion Dinner Dance - at the Franklin County Senior Center in Carrabelle.  Guests can enjoy dinner and music with actual WWII heroes as well as veterans from more recent times.

Sunday, March 15, the Museum will be hosting a Dice Run fundraiser to support the museum.  During this fun event, participants will drive to checkpoints, rolling dice at each stop in order to win prizes. The community is invited to make plans to participate either as a participant (all types of vehicles welcome), sponsor, door prize donor, volunteer, or stop.

Camp Gordon Johnston WWII Museum warmly invites all veterans and the public to visit the museum located at 1873 Hwy 98 West, Carrabelle, FL.  The Museum will be open from 11 am – 5 pm Tuesday to Saturday. For information, please contact the Museum at (850) 697-8575 or Funding provided by the Franklin County Tourist Development Council, the City of Carrabelle and the Camp Gordon Johnston Association.
