Carrabelle Bottle House–Leon Wiesener

Carrabelle Bottle House–Leon Wiesener

We started the Bottle House in 2012 and plan on continuing to add elements as weather, age, and money allows.  We welcome you at any time and there is a sign on the gate at the eastern side of the property inviting you to come in and visit.  Zak and Sophie, the standard poodles, will show you the way.  The Light House and Bottle House are lit and the lights come on around dusk and are on several hours.    We hope you enjoy your visit in Carrabelle and come back soon.  You will always be welcome.  We urge you to sign the Guestbook and give us your comments.

We are located very near the downtown area and welcome you at any time.  No Charge.

Some fabulous new additions!
The large multi geodesic unit was designed as a metaphor for my life and self-portrait. It is made up of several different sized spheres representing phases of my life from birth to present. We all go through phases of life and time and hopefully grow through each phase. The sphere gets larger and more layered as we live longer and acquire more knowledge.

The piece on the tower is meant to convey a feeling of movement and light and spins at night with a light shinning through the colored panels as well as mirrors placed inside the sphere.

I built these objects as a memory to my 20's and 30's when I built and lived in a large geodesic dome in the mountains of East Tennessee. I never forgot the experience and or the math involved and wanted to try and recreate that energy.
